Now all the pre-wedding rituals have been completed successfully now, we come to post-wedding rituals, post-wedding rituals are equally enjoyable as same as pre-wedding rituals and it becomes more enjoyable if it’s celebrated in north India, north India is famous for its weddings, dance drama and food in weddings specifically north Indian wedding are must attend once in your life, you’ll be amazed by the homely treatment and delectable dishes you would be offered to have and not only this, you’ll be amazed by Indian traditions, the party isn’t over yet, Indian weddings are continued till 15 days or even more 1 week is for pre-wedding rituals and another week is kept for post-wedding rituals then also the newly married couple has to go on dinner at every family member of close ones on both brides and from the side. Griha Pravesh-
Griha Pravesh is a post-wedding ritual, it is a ritual to welcome the bride in grooms house, it is believed that the first step of the bride is very auspicious as the new bride is considered as Laxmi goddess of prosperity and wealth is coming to the house and shell bring wealth which is money is literal terms and also prosperity for the house, now to welcome the bride the mother n law comes and does all the necessary rituals and then place an earthen pot filled with rice and then bride has to kick the earthen pot and prayers the god for the happiness of his son and daughter n law and for the new phase of their life and make them eat sweets as sweets are eaten every time in India at any auspicious ritual.
Kul Devi darshan-
This ritual is done the bride and groom visit their Kul devta, Kul devta is known as their family god which they believe in, and wish for a happy married life. this is the second ritual after griha Pravesh, it is not necessary to go to the specific temple which ever god you believe in you must ask for your wishes from god and thank them to give you a great partner and wish for your future life. Sweets are offered to god or goddess and then the leftover sweets are offered to everyone in the home as well.
Pag fera ceremony-
In this ritual the bride has to come back to her maika which is her own house and meet her parents, the bride has to visit with her husband as it is believed that this will maintain the wealth and prosperity of both houses the bride’s house and the groom’s house as well, this has to be done on the next day of the marriage. The groom’s parents are also invited to have lunch with them and then they exchange gifts and sweets and celebrate the successful completion of their wedding. And then the bride returns to her Sasural which is her husband’s house happily.
