This ritual begins with the worship of the lord ganesha, many gifts like new sarees, jewelry are given by the groom’s family to the bride’s family. in the same way, the bride’s family gives gifts to the groom’s family. then these new clothes are worn by the bride and groom. after which, the groom’s sister applies vermilion and sandalwood tilak on the forehead of the bride. and in the same way, the bride’s brother applies tilak on the groom’s forehead. after this, the brides’ brother puts a garland made of flowers around the groom’s neck. and the groom’s sister does the same to the bride. In the end, the bride and groom exchange rings.

Lagna patrika ceremony-

Mangala Snanam ceremony is celebrated on the day of the wedding, Mangala Snanam ceremony ritual begins early in the morning, in their respective houses, during which turmeric, vermillion, and oil are applied on the bride and groom’s body. and then they take a bath, which helps them get purified and get glowing skin. This is celebrated as the Haldi ceremony in north India whereas in south India it is called Mangala Snanam, Mangala means auspicious, and snanam means bath, which ultimately means auspicious bath.
