Dussehra 2021: Celebration in India

Dussehra is Celebrated as Evil Ravana was killed by lord ram, as Ravana kidnapped goddess Sita when lord ram fought with Ravana and returned with goddess Sita, the day when lord ram came back is called Diwali or Deepavali, also known as the festival of lights, the day when Ravana was killed by lord ram is known as Dussehra, this day symbolizes the victory of good over evil as Ravana was the will and lord ram fought for the good. This festival is celebrated as the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana.

It also celebrates the triumph of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishadura.On this day, ‘Shami puja’, ‘Aparajita puja, and Seema avalanghan are some of the rituals that are performed during the Aparahna time. On the same occasion, Bengalis observe Bijoya Dashami that marks the tenth day of Durga puja. On this day, idols of the goddess are carried in processions and immersed in the river. Married women also smear vermilion on each other’s faces while others exchange greetings and celebrate with feasts. Dushera is celebrated on Vijayadashami just after Navaratri ends.

This year it is coming on October 15, 2021, on this day people go to fairs, where they eat, enjoy different swings, and most importantly the effigies of Ravana, Dussehra are celebrated by the burning effigies along with fireworks. of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghanada, which symbolize the burning of evil and victory of the lord ram, it symbolizes that no men should treat a woman like that, lord ram fought for goddess Sita in spite of many difficulties, which resembles the respect and love lord ram gave to her wife goddess Sita. This festival comes generally in mid-October every year, this festival is celebrated with utmost joy and enthusiasm all over parts of India every year, in every state and by all religions mostly by Hindus but all can celebrate in spite of their religion, people gather in huge amount to celebrate this festival and decorate their house with butter lamps and candles.
