The Cannes Film Festival is back in all its glory for 2022, returning to its usual May dates after a belated summer version in 2021 and a cancellation the previous year, and with it all the glitz and glamour that the annual celebration of fashion and film is known for.
This year’s lineup of films is impressive, so we can expect a constant stream of famous faces gracing the Croisette and ascending those iconic red stairs over the next two weeks, from Anne Hathaway to Julia Roberts and Kristen Stewart. Along with the main premieres, there will be a slew of dinners, events, and parties, ensuring that we are treated to plenty of glamorous moments.

However, on second thought, the summery, carefree nature of this gown is ideal for this occasion. She accessorised her look with a stunning Messika necklace and a ring collection that complemented the brooch detail on her gown.

Karla Welch, whose clients include Lorde and Hailey Bieber, dressed the Captain Marvel star in an ethereal white Fendi Spring/Summer 2022 couture column gown and Chopard emeralds and diamonds. Eva Longoria, Katherine Langford, Julianne Moore, and Rebecca Hall were among the other celebrities who walked the red carpet this evening.

Couturier Gaurav Gupta describes Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Cannes 2022 red carpet ensemble as “The Birth of Venus.” The custom appearance is said to have taken 3500 man-hours to create. The sculptured and sinewed outfit, inspired by Italian artist Botticelli’s famous painting, stood out on the red carpet for its immaculate construction. It was dressed with thousands of glass beads and crystals, as well as intricate embroidery all over. With this Venus sculpture, Gupta created a fashion-art moment on the Cannes Film Festival carpet in 2022. The gown effortlessly conveys Rai Bachchan’s timeless charm and strong grace.

The philanthropist walked the red carpet on the first day of Cannes wearing a design from Alberta Ferretti’s Autumn-Winter 2022 collection. Her dress, with delicate straps in black chiffon and sequin-embroidered ornaments and ruffles falling down the length, is an ode to the trend of sheer dresses with pantyhose on display, which has seen the likes of Fendi and Elie Saab take to the catwalks.

Amandine Petit graced the Cannes red carpet in this gorgeous Dessange Paris gown. The elegant chiffon-silk, off-shoulder form-fitted gown was paired with a headset and studs (which could be spotted from miles away!) and subtle makeup. The fashion game is going strong, isn’t it?

On her debut appearance on the Cannes red carpet, Urvashi Rautela wore a white ball gown with layer detailing and a long train. The outfit was from the shelves of Tony Ward Couture. The former Miss Diva Universe accessorised her look with hoop earrings. The actress kept her makeup on point with red lipstick and tied her hair into a bun.
