How to prepare for the 2nd COVID wave?

The news is not false! You might think that your worst nightmare has come true, but it is the same for all of us. With a lot of people violating rules, we have come to a similar situation which might make it unavoidable to impose restrictions. But you don’t need to stress out. This specially curated list will prepare you for the second wave and also make it easy for you and your family.

The motto is to stay vigilant and take care of your safety. Follow the steps for a carefree experience this time.

1) Buy your essentials wisely
You never know when people will begin hoarding stuff in fear of subsequent lockdowns. Keep your stocks ready and make sure you buy ONLY the essentials.

2) Mentally prepare your kids
Children are not accustomed to frequent changes, and that too, such drastic ones. They haven’t barely begun offline classes and the scare is back. Keep talking to them about the present scenario.

3) Be ready for the digital work
You might be thinking that offline work has suddenly turned so relieving. Beware of the habits! The shift can happen anytime soon. Make sure all wirings are done properly and your gadgets are working fine.

4) Don’t believe in rumors
Remember how the initial days were full of rumors? Don’t believe them now. There is no shortage of vaccines, or anything else.

5) Don’t refuse checks
Temperature checks are essential. To combat the new strain, you need to be more alert. Get yourself tested in case of the mildest of symptoms too.

6) Avoid crowded places
Unless certain unavoidable circumstances arise, don’t visit crowded places. Prevention is always better than cure. This will ensure that you don’t become a spreader.

7) Always follow the guidelines
Social distancing, wearing of masks and face shields has turned inevitable. Don’t ignore any of these.

8) Keep a track of the latest news
Stay updated! In case you are not abreast with the recent developments, you might invite trouble due to ignorance of facts.

9) Avoid traveling as much as possible
Airports and railway stations are no less than hotspots. Do not travel during these difficult times. You never know who might be contaminated, or just a carrier.

10) Get your vaccine shot as soon as possible
As per your eligibility criteria, get vaccinated without wasting any time. From next month, people above the age of 45 can get their shots. This criterion is irrespective of comorbidities.

11) Limit outdoor activities, unless it’s an emergency
The morning walk can wait. The regular shopping errands can be postponed. Do not step out just for the sake of it. Take it as a duty towards your family, and the whole world at large.

12) In India, the festival rush is quite high nowadays
The second wave has begun close to the festive season. Obviously, no one is stopping you from celebrating. Stay safe and remember that the threat is still there.

13) Get your PPE kits ready again
You might need them in the near future. Make all arrangements well in advance.
