Karwa Chauth is a one day festival celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Hindu married women. This festival is celebrated on an auspicious day according to the calendar, it falls on the fourth day of Purnima in the month if Kartika. In this festival, the married women fast for the whole day and later after seeing the moon and performing certain rituals they eat. The women fast on this day for the safety and longevity of their husbands. This tradition is being followed from last many years and it is being carried on from generation to generation.
