Self Care: Why and How?

In the life of hustle and bustle, it is extremely important to take out 15 minutes a day for yourself. Call this time as your personal time and devote it entirely to your own self. Introspection helps you to realize a lot of things happening in your life and gives a crystal clear view right in front of you. 

You need to ask yourself often that, “Is it something that you always wanted to accomplish or you need to change something about your current situation”? Take the right step as soon as possible and take charge of your life to make it happier ever.

As per the definitions, “Self-care is the practice of taking an active role in protecting one’s own well-being and happiness’. This concept is not new to us as we have been reading about this from the times of Buddha and other ancient philosophers. To be contented is the need of the hour to live a peaceful and happier life because you can give happiness and positivity to others only if you have it for yourself.

  • You become what you eat, so it is absolutely necessary to eat healthy and nutritious food to stay fit and sound.
  • There is no better medicine than the healing power of quality time spent with family and friends. You can be successful and still not be happy without family and you can handle failures and still be contented with the support of your family. 
  • Go on a date with yourself. Spend time alone at some cafe or your favorite sport and love being yourself.

  • Exercise regularly to keep yourself active throughout the day and work passionately.
  • Don’t hide your emotions, handle them smartly and do not hesitate to seek help and guidance from anyone you trust.
  • Meditate at regular intervals to find your inner peace and harmony and keep smiling.
  • Take a sound sleep of around 7-8 hours to avoid dizziness and frustration at work.
  • Learn to say “No” to the things and people that tend to disturb your peace, stay away from them.
  • Talk with people that share positive vibes and motivate you to do better every day.
